Jørgen Reenberg was born in 1927. He is educated from The Royal Danish Theatre in 1946, and has been working at the theatre ever since. Jørgen Reenberg is an acclaimed actor and an institution in the Danish field of theater. He has played the leading parts in several classics by Ibsen, Strindberg, Shakespeare and Tjekov. He has also had leading parts in modern drama which is the case in his next play "Indenfor murene" by Lars Norén.

Jørgen Reenberg has also appeared in several Danish film classics, such as "Far til fire" (1953), "Hærværk"(1977) and Lars von Trier's "Europa"(1991). Besides this he has lent his voice to the Danish version of the animated movie "A Bug's Life"(1998).

In 2000 Jørgen Reenberg received the Honorary Prize at the Danish Reumert Award show. He has also been bestowed the order Kommandør af Dannebrogsordenen (1997), and the Medal Ingenio et Arti (1998).
