Lin Hua has made outstanding translations of all of Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales directly from Danish into Chinese.

Lin Hua is a Senior Translator and Professor in Translation. He holds a B. A. from Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Lin Hua has received the Rungstedlund Prize for 2002 and in 1997 he received the H. C. Andersen Honorary Prize and was appointed Knight of Dannebrog by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. He has been a member of the Presidium for H.C. Andersen Prize since 2000.

Lin Hua is also a Council Member of the Chinese External Cultural Relations Association and a member of the Chinese Translators Association.

Besides the translations of Hans Christian Andersen's Collected Fairytales and Stories , Lin Hua has also translated Nordic Myths and Hero Sagas, Generaldirektoren Vilhelm Meyer - en dansk forretningsmands liv in Kina and Peace and Friendship - Denmark's Official Relations with China (both by Danish ambassador Christopher Bo Bramsen) and several works by Danish author Karen Blixen.
