By on - H.C. Andersen 2005 - 16 March 2005

The fully-illustrated official Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Programme Book features examples of the activities in 2005 endorsed by the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation. The book is a source of inspiration for all those seeking information on the principal events during the Andersen bicentenary. The programme includes Danish as well as international Hans Christian Andersen 2005 events.

The Hans Christian Andersen bicentenary is celebrated internationally with Denmark at its core focus. The festival unites the world in the spirit of the Danish storyteller, and the programme has therefore been published in two versions. One in Danish, English and German and one in Danish, English and Japanese.

Apart from offering a description of the different projects, the programme also features a preface by HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, who is patron of the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 events. Additionally, the book features background articles by author Jens Andersen and journalist Per Theil. The book is crammed with personal statements by a great number of national and international artists who in association with the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation contribute to the celebrations in 2005.
