The legendary AC Milan defender and captain Paolo Maldini was born in Milan, on the 26th of June 1968. He is the son of a great Milan player, Cesare Maldini, ex-coach of the Italian national team.
The debut in the Italian Serie A took place on the 20th of January 1985 for AC Milan in a match against Udinese. Paolo Maldini has since played a record of 130 European Cup/Champions League matches and 126 matches for the Italian national team. Maldini is a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.
