Giancarlo Fisichella, who was born in Rome in 1973, is one of the most experienced Formula 1 drivers. Giancarlo Fisichella began his Formula1 career with Minardi in 1996 spending time as both test and race driver. The Italian first raced in Formula Alfa Boxer in 1991.

Then, moved up to Italian F3 seires for three seasons with RC Motorsport. His excellent racing techniques and skills allowed him to finish 2nd in 1993, champion in 94 where he took the Monaco F3 and Macau International race victories.

His quest took him to the International Touring Car Championship with Alfa Romeo in 95. In 1996, his debut in Formula One race arrived, he drove for Minardi, before moving on to Jordan in 1997 and afterwards moving on to Benetton for the next four years. In 2002 Fisichella returned to Jordan and won his first Grand Prix at Interlagos in 2003.

For 2004 Fisichella moves to the Sauber Petronas team where he will start his 9th season in Formula One.
