Armin Assinger's statement on becoming a HCA ambassador:
"I am pleased to have been elected to be the official Hans Christian Andersen ambassador. I belong to a generation that grew up reading adventure stories, heroic sagas and fairy tales, and in which the television played only a secondary role. Today I try to make this reading, and also the reading aloud, appealing to my children. And an essential contribution to this is made by the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. It doesn?t matter whether I read "The Princess and the Pea" to my daughter or "The Ugly Duckling", her eyes light up. This is the most beautiful thing and at the same time the proof that fairy tales are eternal!"
