Born in Denmark in 1953, Heine Askaer-Jensen has spent half of his life in South East Asia with the Danish "Jebsen & Jessen". Besides his professional career of Group Managing Director for the diversified industrial group of more than 2500 people, 7 main businesses organized through more than 50 companies within the ASEAN region, a significant personal energy has been dedicated to the promotion of Danish cultural and business interests in Singapore and the region.

Heine Askaer-Jensen is founding member of the Danish Secondary School in Singapore, founding member, previous chairman and committee member of the Danish Business Association of Singapore, committee member and previous chairman of the Danish Church Abroad / Danish Seamen's Church in Singapore and with a strong representation in the local business community in his capacity of vice chairman of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, board member at the Singapore National Employers Federation and governmental nominated advisory council member of the Singapore Lifelong Learning Endowment Fund.

He has worked at several ad-hoc committees accentuating his persistent interest in the business world, works and cultural scene of Singapore with special emphasis to share his cultural roots of Denmark with the progressive, dynamic and evolving Singapore.

Heine Askaer-Jensen has kept abreast with international progression through advanced management studies at Pennsylvania and Harvard University in the USA. Today he lives in Singapore with his Danish wife, Bitten and with two grownup daughters now living in Copenhagen.
