A series of banquets held at castles and manors in southern Funen is on the area's tourist program for 2005 in connection with Hans Christian Andersen's 200th birthday. Among others, Lykkesholm Castle will become an important focal point.

The travel bureau, Fyn Tour, is behind the project, which will offer tourists a number of exclusive dinners at castles and manors in southern Funen, all taking place in the name and spirit of Hans Christian Andersen.

The dinners will be arranged in connection with conventions and conferences, among other things, so participants may have a unique experience outside the conference center itself.

Lykkesholm Castle is one of the few in the area accustomed to large parties and dinners, but production consultant for Fyn Tour, Peter Thaisen, does not see this as a big problem. As long as there is room for the banquet itself, it will work, he says. Arrangements can always be made with respect to portable toilets or other facilities connected to the party, if it becomes necessary.
