HCA NEWS Hans Christian Andersen works on the Internet

The Danish Royal Library is in the process of putting a number of major and minor works from Hans Christian Andersen's hand on the Internet.

By ms - H.C. Andersen 2005 - 14 April 2003

In a desire to illustrate the versatility of Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish Royal Library has begun putting a number of lesser-known works from Hans Christian Andersen's hand on the Internet. This is all part of a prelude leading up to the writer's 200th birthday.

Among other things, there will be pencil sketches, paper cutouts and picture books, introduced with a preface and accompanied by essays from various contemporary authors and Hans Christian Andersen scholars.

The first gem on the Net will be Hans Christian Andersen's collected paper cutouts with an essay by literary critic Jens Andersen as an introduction. Thereafter, new material will be added on a running basis in Danish and English.

The works may be seen at http://www.kb.dk/elib/mss/hca/
