Danish TV stars as warm-up for HCA show

The Danish candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest Jakob Sveistrup and five of this year's finalists from the Danish talent show Stjerne for en aften are to feature warm-up performances prior to the Andersen opening show on 2 April.



Harold Bloom to hold lecture on Andersen

The University of Southern Denmark is to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen with a public lecture by the American literary critic Harold Bloom on 1 April. The Andersen lecture will be entitled 'Trust the Tale, Not the Teller'.



Official Andersen opening at the Royal Library

On Tuesday 15 March, the opening took place at the Royal Library in Copenhagen of the exhibitions entitled "H.C. Andersen's Theatre Dreams" and "Shadow Pictures - The Saxon Alps in Poetry, Painting and Photography". HRH Princess Alexandria presided over the opening.



HCA2005 presented in Vilnius with royal attendence

HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark presided over the presentation of the impressive Lithuanian programme celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen in 2005. The event took place at the "Lėlė" Puppet Theatre in Vilnius on Tuesday 15 March 2005.
