LIFE & WORK NEWS Short, new biography

Johan de Mylius, the Hans Christian Andersen Center, has written a short, new biography on Hans Christian Andersen.

By Lars Bo Jensen - University of Southern Denmark - 09 October 2002

The new biography by Johan de Mylius is relatively short, but has a definitive point of view and treats its subject thoroughly.  The biography deals both with his life and works and does not merely describe the external facts.  It handles, for example, Hans Christian Andersen's relationship to Denmark's "Golden Age," his religiosity and the course of his life, set against the context of changes in society.

At the same time, the biography is filled with lots of short, independent sub-topics and has links to other pages, including to the new FAQ, for a more thorough discussion of a number of subjects.
