Five of the best theaters in Poland will perform Hans Christian Andersen tales for children in the beginning of April.

The stage is set for the smiling faces of lots of children, when the Polish Festival of Plays for Children gets underway in Kraków during the week of April 9-14. 

Five of the best theaters in Poland have qualified after the preliminary rounds to perform various Hans Christian Andersen tales at the festival.

Hans Christian Andersen serves as patron of the Polish festival, which is part of a number of projects in the country to celebrate the bicentennial of the writer's birth in 2005. The Danish consulate in Kraków is co-organizer of the festival.
