Odense City Museums - The Hans Christian Andersen Museum - publish fairy-tale manuscripts on the net

By Ane Grum-Schwensen - Hans Christian Andersen Museum - 12 September 2003

In the series of digital facsimile editions of Hans Christian Andersens manuscripts, the fairytales that are situated at the collections of Odense City Museums have now been published. The publication can be seen in continuation of the 13 fairy-tale manuscripts that The Royal Library has published and we have aimed to show the handwritten manuscripts in a layout that is not essentially different from the one used by The Royal Library. Besides showing the manuscripts in a readable format and linking to the text edition at Arkiv for Dansk Litteratur we have added an option to search for specific page numbers (which is particulary useful when studying the more extensive manuscripts) and to obtain short factual information on the manuscript and the fairytale.
