HERE & NOW HCA birthday celebrations in Crakow

On the 1st April 2005 in the Main Market Square in Cracow (Poland) a cultural event for children "Cracow for H.C. Andersen" organized by the NordicHouse as a part of bicentenary of the writer's birthday took place.

In the frame of the celebration about 1200 children disguised as characters from the Andersen's fairy-tales created a "chain" surrounding the Market Square.



Then a parade of the children took place.



Performances of children ballet and theatrical groups, teaching of Danish games for children and "living pictures" were presented on a stage at the City Hall. Also theatre of disabled people "Radwanek" supported by a foundation "After All" run by the well known Polish actress Anna Dymna  performed a play. A post card printed especially for that occassion and an occassional stamp could be bought at the Polish Post stand. Representatives of the Cracow City Council and Malopolska School Supervisor Office were official guests of the celebration.
