By ms - H.C. Andersen 2005 - 22 December 2004

A new book Andersen og Gud (Andersen and God) studies Andersen's religious inspiration in the context of his work.

Surprising examples of Andersen?'s relevance to theology are revealed in a number of close thematic studies of his fairytales, novels, psalms and travel stories.

Adopting individual approaches the two contributing authors focus on the subject-matter of Hans Christian Andersen's authorship in the context of Andersen's Christian realm.

The authors are church historian Ph.D. Carsten Bach-Nielsen of Aarhus University and author and Lutheran pastor Doris Ottesen. Both authors have published extensively.

Andersen og Gud has been published with financial support from the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation. The book is currently only available in Danish.
