If the Danish-American Thomas Hansen has anything to say about it, the Danish Hans Christian Andersen impersonator, Torben Iversen, will go on tour across the United States during 2005 with his unique show, the Hans Christian Andersen Parade, writes the newspaper Fynens Stiftstidende.

The plan is that the coast-to-coast tour will begin in Solvang, California, and end somewhere on the east coast at a location still to be designated.

At the moment, 34-year old Thomas Hansen is working to found a solid financial basis for the tour and hopes that the Hans Christian Andersen Parade will be a worthy alternative to the Danish Tourist Board?s American efforts in connection with the celebration of Hans Christian Andersen in 2005.

"We are making a big deal out of the writer in 2005. And, all in all, with everything he stands for, Andersen deserves a much larger place in modern American consciousness,? Thomas Hansen remarked to the paper.

The Danish emigrant was born and raised in Næsby on the island of Funen and went to school in Odense, before he went to the United States as an exchange student in 1989 and remained there.
