The Chinese Prosecutor-General, Mr. Jia Chunwang, has just paid an official visit to the city of Hans Christian Andersen's birth, Odense. Jia Chunwang came to Odense with a delegation to tour the Hans Christian Andersen Museum - the home of the author he cherished in his childhood.

Today, the writer's childhood home serves as a museum under the auspices of Odense City Museums, and Jia Chunwang visited it together with his Danish colleague, Director of Public Prosecutions Henning Fode, who officially invited Jia Chunwang to visit Denmark.

For the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, the visit was a welcome opportunity to highlight the museum's importance as a collaborative partner in the HCA2005 project.

According to the newspaper Fyens Stiftstidende, the head of Odense City Museums, Claus Koch, sees the museum as a unique platform to promote culture, tourism and business over the next 2-3 years and beyond.

"We are incredibly happy about the many VIP visits, which helps remind us of the great significance Hans Christian Andersen has for people all over the world and that his meaning is universal. It is especially remarkable that interest from the Chinese side has never dwindled," says Claus Koch, who received Jia Chunwang during his visit to Odense.
