Boyd Gaines. Born in 1953. He first achieved renown in 1980 for his role in "Fame." From 1981 to 1984, he appeared on the CBS sitcom "One Day at a Time," playing the part of Mark Royer. Boyd Gaines made a big impression in the comedy "Porky's" from 1982 and, until 1986, he made guest appearances in a variety of television series. Then, he received a role in the film "Heartbreak Ridge."

Boyd Gaines has also worked as a stage actor in New York and, at the end of the 1980s, he achieved renewed success as a Broadway actor. He has won two TONY awards for his work in the Broadway play "The Heidi Chronicles" (1989) and the musical "She Loves Me" (1994). He has most recently worked in the films "I'm Not Rappaport" from 1996 and "The Confession" from 1997.
