Born in 1947. Professor of Literature at the University of Malta and author of numerous books. Many of his works have been translated into numerous languages, including English, Italian, French, German, Portughese, Rumanian, Arabic. He addressed about seventy international congresses in various countries, and his poetry was included in some of the major poetry recitals held throughout Europe.

He writes poetry, novels, criticism, short stories. Winner of various international prizes. Many of his poetical works have been set to music. He writes in Maltese, English, Italian. His works are best known internationally for giving a unique interpretation of Malta and of life on a small island.
