Lise holds a BA degree with a double major in Literature Studies and Economics and is currently compiling her MA thesis in Modern Culture and Cultural Communications. She was formerly employed at the Kunstforeningen Gl. Strand art association in Copenhagen, and in 2001 she was a trainee at the Culture Department of the Royal Danish General Consulate in New York.

Lise is primarily assigned as project coordinator in connection with the 2005 Hans Christian Andersen bicentenary where she acts as contact person and coordinator for the International PR Network, which includes the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Tourist Board and international communication agencies.

Lise also works with planning and coordinating press conferences and ambassadorial appointments for the 2005 Hans Christian Andersen bicentenary and is responsible for various written materials as well as press releases in Danish and English. Lise Knudsen is furthermore contact person and coordinator for the 2005 Hans Christian Andersen corporate partners including SAS (Scandinavian Air Service).
