His Excellency, the Brazilian Minister of Culture and H.C. Andersen Ambassador Gilberto Gil opens the evening by playing either "Nightingale" or "The Ugly Duckling".
The event itself consists of 3 H.C. Andersen Fairytales, spoken in Portuguese, adapted to theatre by director Genillson de Pulcinely. In between the Fairytales there will be dance, music and songs performed by students from School of Nations, students from The American School of Brasilia and opera singer Della Henry.
An exhibition and a film about the life of Hans Christian Andersen will be shown in the Theatre Lobby.
After the event, the Diplomatic Corps offers a cocktail with appetizers from "around the world".
All profits go to the Orphanage "Casa de Moisés" in Aguas Lindas.
The event is done in cooperation with the Brasilia National Theatre, the Brazilian Ministry of Culture and supported by The Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation in Copenhagen, Denmark
