The Copenhagen Harbour Festival presents the musical The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen sponsored by the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation. The performance, with a cast of 650 featuring a huge floating stage, will be the largest theatrical production in Denmark ever.

As part of the grand celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen in 2005, the Copenhagen Harbour Festival presents a magnificent open-air production of The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen Harbour.

The performance, which will be featured on a floating stage, is set to be the largest theatre production in Denmark ever. A cast of 650 will bring Andersen's cherished tale to life and transform Copenhagen Harbour into an enchanted world of mermaids, princes, mermen and witches.

The Little Mermaid will be a gift to the citizens of Copenhagen, offering an amateur cast the opportunity to attend evening class teaching with professional training in drama, dance and singing.

The entire process from auditions to professional training will be followed closely by a back stage film crew that will provide public coverage on the project website.

The spectacular production of The Little Mermaid will take place with sponsorship from the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation.

Register for auditions at: www.kulturhavn.dk.
