On Friday, 6 December 2002, the work of renowned artist Lars Ravn will be unveiled at the headquarters of Hans Christian Andersen 2005 in Odense at a gathering at Det Adelige Jomfrukloster in Odense.

Lars Ravns work is inspired by Hans Christian Andersens life, deeds, play and fairy tales and is based on intensive study of the author.  For over a year, Lars Ravn has labored over this major work, which consists of 6 paintings and an almost 20-meter long frieze. The work decorates the 2 central rooms of Det Adelige Jomfrukloster in Odense  generously donated by the New Carlsberg Foundation. In several of the works, Lars Ravn has put weight on Hans Christian Andersens travels, particularly in the portrait that depicts Hans Christian Andersen with a fez on his head!

The work of art is specially designed as a commentary for Hans Christian Andersens 200th birthday in 2005.
