The Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation is currently located at Det Adelige Jomfrukloster in Odense, Denmark. It plans, coordinates and acts as mediator for the entire celebration of Hans Christian Andersen's bicentenary nationally as well as internationally.

Supporting the fund are the Danish State via the Ministries of Culture and Economic and Business Affairs, the Municipality of Odense, the County of Funen and the Bikuben Foundation. 

The Board of the Foundation consists of eight members, chaired by Director Poul Bache, The Danish Agency for the Arts. In total, the Board has two representatives from the Municipality of Odense/County of Funen, three representatives from the Danish State, and three representatives from the Bikuben Foundation.
